The Three Rivers Evolution Event (TREE)
The Three Rivers Evolutionary Event is a local Pittsburgh evolutionary conference designed to bring together researchers from all variety of stages and institutions for a day of talks, posters, and conversations. TREE was started in 2017 by a group of post-doctoral researchers and graduate students (including myself) and the inaugural event attracted more than 160 researchers from 38 institutions. Funding through sources such as the Society for Molecular Biology and Evolution (SMBE) and the American Society of Naturalists (ASN) and generous support from local universities allowed the event to remain free to attendants.
For the second iteration of TREE (2018), I acted as co-chair for the event.

The Society for the Study of Evolution- Graduate Student Advisory Council
The Graduate Student Advisory Council within the Society for the Study of Evolution is a voice between the society and its early career researchers. As a member for 2018 and 2019, I disseminated recent research conducted by both graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in the two society journals, Evolution and Evolution Letters, by highlighting the articles on the council's Twitter account. In addition to reviewing the R.C. Lewontin Early Award, GSAC provides services to students at the yearly Evolution conference. At the 2019 Evolution conference in Providence, RI I co-organized and coordinated the local undergraduate day at Evolution, which paired undergraduates from local colleges and universities with graduate student mentors attending the conference and provided free registration to interested students.
